Better New Year’s Resolutions

January 10, 2015

My husband and I were talking, and he asked, “have you made any suggestions for New Year’s resolutions.” I said, “no. I don’t feel like people really value resolutions so I’m just focusing on the challenge for this month.” That lead to a discussion about how resolutions are difficult and often people forget about them before April (and if you know me, then you know I got online and researched it and I found stats indicating that many people don’t even make it through January with resolutions!). Then he recommended something that I thought was brilliant! He suggested giving people better New Year’s resolutions that are actually achievable. To make it even sweeter, he gave me 3 ideas for better resolutions! Way to go hubby. So, here are the Better New Year’s Resolutions.

Achievable New Year's Resolution Ideas1)

There are plenty of unhealthy foods out there, so picking one to give up, though a frightening thought, is very realistic. I’m thinking chips, french fries, soda, candy, cookies, and chicken wings (full of fat!). I can certainly choose one. How about you?

By the way, 75% of the year is 39 weeks. That’s 1 superfood (which can of course be repeated) per week, not per day. That is totally doable. Just for fun, I listed some superfoods below, though I feel that almost every healthy food is somehow, somewhere (on a blog or in an article or an image) listed as a super food.

Superfoods

Blueberries

Walnuts

Kale

Avocado

Flax seed

Tea

Apple

Salmon

Spinach

Dark Chocolate

As far as the exercise to master goes…burpees tend to be challenging for most folks. Oh yes, and push ups, squats, and pistol squats…

Let me know what your New Year’s resolution is below, and if you’re using one of our suggestions, we’re glad we could help 🙂
