About Me

Hi, I’m Cece.

I absolutely love health and wellness. I’ve been fascinated by the human body since I was a little girl. It’s amazing! All of the processes that go on in our bodies. Things that seem so simple, but are so complex, like breathing. It’s just miraculous. I also love to explore and travel. The world is beautiful in so many ways. I won’t deny that there is ugliness in the world, but there is so much beauty. A plate of delicious food. The sun setting over the ocean. Laughter and love. Beautiful.

I believe that our wellness is one of the most important things that we have in life, and one of the things that we can directly impact by our behavior and our actions. We can’t always improve our health. We’re born with genetic predispositions and sometimes we’re born with conditions that we have no control over. In spite of that, we can certainly improve our wellness. So, that’s the inspiration for Fortunes, Food, & Fitness LLC. I want to help others to improve their wellness, and to see the beauty within themselves and the world around them.

What qualifies me to help people? I have my bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology – Fitness Specialist. I am a certified Group Fitness Instructor, Health Coach, and Exercise Physiologist, and a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher. My master’s degree is in Occupational Therapy and I have worked in mental health, acute care, skilled nursing, and outpatient. My patients have ranged in age from pediatric to geriatric. I’ve taught exercise since 2002, including group exercise at gyms and in the community, and personal training in gyms or in the home. I have also provided virtual and 1:1 health coaching. Aside from that, I’ve been exercising for as long as I can remember. Before I could speak well I remember my Get in Shape Girl toys and doing Jane Fonda videos with my mom. I’m just one of those people who truly enjoys exercise. I also enjoy helping others to find a love for exercise and healthy habits…or at least a love for the benefits 🙂

So, travelers, join me if you’re ready to start your health and wellness journey!

A few facts about me:

– I love fashion, and would say that my preferred style is along the lines of Khaleesi and Missandei from Game of Thrones. I love the curly hair and braids, and the clothing. I can’t get away with that look at work, but that’s what the weekend is for.

– My favorite show of all time is The Simpson’s.

– My favorite movie of all time is Curly Sue.

– I stopped eating red meat in high school and my mom was really supportive. Whenever she cooked red meat, she would make a second dish for me. I eventually went back to eating red meat, but during that experience, mom and I learned a lot about nutrition and made lasting changes to our diets.

– I LOVE music and dancing, and sometimes when I’m home alone I sing karaoke way too loud while trying to dance along with the videos on YouTube.

– I’ve been lifting weights since I was 13. My brother got me into weights and my dad got me into running.

– I used to play with spiders when I was a kid, then I saw Arachnophobia and have been afraid of them ever since.
