I provide personal training and health coaching services to individuals and groups, locally or virtually. I take a holistic approach to health and wellness, believing that being healthy and well is not the absence of illness in the body. Being healthy and well is having wholeness in mind, body, and spirit, and achieving the best health you can. Your health and wellness is personal and specific to you, so don’t be discouraged when what worked for someone else doesn’t work for you. I work with clients from all walks of life and fitness levels, but I have focused on working with those seeking health improvement and improving the quality of their movements. In regard to health, I work on lowering the risk of developing lifestyle illnesses, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and obesity. Also, with the support of their physicians, I work with clients seeking to reverse lifestyle diseases and improve their health. I also work with clients who have a history of illness or injury. This includes working with individuals who have been discharged from therapy for chronic pain, joint replacement, balance impairment, broken bones, muscle/tendon repair, and weakness/fatigue. I work with these clients to improve the quality of their movements by decreasing stiffness and increasing control.
Being well and moving well can have a truly positive impact on your life, and the lives of those around you. On several occasions, I have identified my clients’ health problems, such as high blood pressure or muscle and joint disorders. This information allowed my clients to get the medical attention they needed early. In addition, I have successfully helped my clients to lower their blood sugar and blood pressure to more healthy levels, lose weight, improve strength and endurance, and improve their ability to move. These improvements have led my clients to participating more fully in their lives, as mothers, wives, grandmothers, workers, role models, friends, caregivers, travelers, volunteers…
On a more personal note, I love intense workouts that leave me breathless. As a result, I also enjoy working with athletic folks that want to work out hard for sport or play. I love doing agility drills, jump training, and lifting heavy. If I’m at the gym, you’ll find me by the weights. If I’m home, you’ll find me with a sandbag, medicine ball, or kettlebells. If I’m outside, I’m either jogging or running drills. So, yes, I’ll work with you if you don’t have any health problems or injuries and simply love to work out hard and wake up a little sore the next day.
