Quick Turkey Chili

October 16, 2013

This month we are having fun with different chili recipes, and our food of the month is the chili pepper. Here is a simple and healthy quick turkey chili recipe that I love! It only takes about 15 minutes to prep, and is ready to eat in 45-60 minutes!

Turkey Chili

Turkey Chili

Ingredients:
1 can of white (cannellini) beans (rinsed)
1 can of kidney beans (rinsed)
¾-1 pound of ground turkey (browned)
½ chili seasoning pack of your choice (I prefer low sodium versions)
1 can of diced tomatoes
12-16 ounces of water
½ diced onion (yellow or white)
4 cloves of garlic (diced)
2 tablespoons of olive oil

In a large soup pan, sauté onions and garlic in olive oil. Add in all other ingredients. Mix well, and cook on low heat for 30-45 minutes. Add additional seasonings as desired (I like to add a little red pepper for extra kick). Serve as is, or with your own style. My fiancé’ loves to have is chili served over rice. I prefer the chili with sour cream, chives, and a bit of shredded cheese.
